CCTV System Upgrade
Fuse Fire & Security completed a major CCTV system upgrade at Decathlon Belfast, modernising the store's ageing CCTV system and significantly expanding camera coverage.
The project included a new 64-channel Hikvision NVR and 28 additional cameras, bringing the installation to 48 cameras in total and providing comprehensive coverage throughout the store and external areas.
The Challenge
Upgrading an Ageing CCTV System and Improving Coverage
The existing CCTV system at Decathlon Belfast had been in place for a number of years and was becoming outdated. The client wanted to modernise the system while improving camera coverage throughout the store and its external areas.
Rather than replacing equipment unnecessarily, existing Hikvision cameras that remained suitable for continued use were retained and incorporated into the upgraded system.
The objective was to improve coverage, modernise the recording equipment and provide additional capacity while maximising the value of the client's existing CCTV equipment.

The Solution
Expanding CCTV Coverage to 48 Cameras
A new 64-channel Hikvision NVR was installed to provide the recording capacity required for the expanded CCTV system, with the existing Hikvision cameras integrated alongside the new equipment.
A further 28 Hikvision cameras were installed, bringing the total number of cameras across the site to 48.
The upgrade included:
- New 64-channel Hikvision NVR
- 28 additional Hikvision cameras
- Hikvision ColorVu turret cameras
- 3 Hikvision fisheye cameras
- 2 Hikvision panoramic cameras
- 5 new external cameras
- Integration and reuse of existing Hikvision cameras
The combination of existing and new cameras provides Decathlon Belfast with comprehensive CCTV coverage across the store and external areas, while the 64-channel NVR provides additional capacity for the system.
